"I enjoy working on my computer, the Internet allows me to tap my way into another world, or I can design, write and entertain myself for
hours. I can earn money, by trading shares from my study desk, and keep in touch with friends the world over via email. However, when 'things' go wrong, I am at a total loss as to how to fix it.

So often a function fails at just the wrong time and stress is the result. This is followed by either a visit from my local computer whizz, days or weeks after the event, or I have to take my computer to a store for repairs.

With Max's publication I have a ready answer to many problems.

The publication is well designed with a contents page that allows me to locate the problem and answer quickly, and to follow the directions, stress free.

The directions are easy to follow as they are written for the average Jo, and in many instances, more that one solution is suggested.

I also enjoy Max's writing style through which runs his humour, one can correct the problem and have a laugh at the same time. Thanks Max for spending months putting together this publication and I wish you every success.

Many computer fix-it technicians may not agree with me as their business income drops, or if they are clever, they will use your ebook as their manual!"

"So many books intending to be of help when one’s computer acts strangely, lead only to further confusion.

This one, by Max Pinner actually solves the problems.

The sequence of actions required is clear and I have found it most useful. There cannot be many symptoms not covered.

And by following the simple but precise instructions, any sick PC is not only well again, but the operator has had a smile at Max’s humour at the same time."

"Because I am a S/W developer so I read first part of your book dealing with
software problems, and I would like to say only three words:
"Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!".

Actually two weeks ago one of my PC (having Win2k) suddenly stops working. It started to boot but after a few seconds it restarts automatically.

I consult your book and applied your "Use Last Known Good Configuration" trick and IT WORKS. Amazing!

Max, thanks for that valuable book. It's really a good companionfor any PC user.

I think it's a must have thing for every PC user.

Great thing is that you also covered problems from latest OS "Windows Vista" too.

I also downloaded few of tools you described in this book like "ERUNT". Even I didn't know that such tools are available and are absolutely FREE.

I am software guy but I will read hardware related troubleshooting too, above scenario inspired me to read it fully.

I will also make printout of few pages and keep in my drawer for easy access."

"My computer has never been brilliant - it started slowing down almost as soon as I bought it, about three years ago.

I've spent hours and loads of money downloading stuff off the internet in the hope of making it faster again, but nothing seemed to work.  In fact, some things even made it worse!

I thought I'd have to buy another computer, but that all changed when I bought your book.

I had no idea how easy and effective it was to make my computer run faster when you know what you're doing!

Thanks Max!"

"A do it yourself computer fix it guide!!!!!!

Seen these. Had a look at them and they still left me as confused as before. Not so this simple DIY fixes manual though.

Being obviously written for those of us who are intimidated by computers, this manual is different from others.

I am not embarrassed to declare that it was written JUST for me -- or at least that's how it seems.

Easy to follow directions with clear suggestions for steps to take to correct those frustrating computer glitches, this manual has been a terrific asset to me and I am getting braver each time the #@$**#$ computer decides it is my master....Not any more!

Thanks for the help."

"I have spent hours reading manuals and searching the internet for answers to my PC problems, wondering if I can solve them myself.

What I love about this book is that the author guides me through a logical checklist of what I can do, then tells me exactly when I need to get a technician involved. i.e. someone makes the decision for me & removes that niggling doubt!

He clarifies what I can do and what I can't, giving me a clear direction!"

"This is a must have book for all non technical computer users, probably about 95% of us.

Operating systems and programs continue to become more and more complex and as users, we take it all for granted just like our car or mobile phone.

When our PC goes wrong we are left totally dependent on a world we know nothing about.

This book is full of simple and easy to read guides and instructions to fix most problems, together with some very useful links to web services and products to help you.

Written by Max Pinner, one of the few IT professionals I know who can communicate to us humans, it decodes the jargon and fog that seems to surround the PC.

If you want to save hours on the phone to nowhere, reduce your stress levels and keep working, just reach for this Ebook."

"I was reading a chapter about the Registry. What on earth is the Registry? I was thinking, never having heard the term before. He must have read my mind because the next paragraph explained exactly what the Registry is, what it does, and why it’s SO IMPORTANT to back it up.

I have to say that I’ve been really impressed with this ebook. The book reads very easily and explains things well. I set up my maintenance toolkit as Max suggests in his first chapter, and found that even just running that immediately sorted out several small problems that together were conspiring to slow my machine down.

Following the relevant section, I was really impressed with how much quicker my computer ran. It hadn’t cost me a penny. I couldn’t believe the difference in my PC.  Thanks, Max!"

"I really appreciate how simple and clear your instructions are.  My daughter came to me in tears just yesterday saying her computer had crashed.  For her it was the end of the world!  Anyway, I whipped out Simple Fixes and discovered it wasn't a total crash - went through the "simple fixes" and now she is happily IMing her friends again.

Really you have made this so clear that even a total tech dummy like me seem like an expert ;)"

"Simple Fixes For Your Sick PC is ... a calm voice offering a simple solution that saves you lost time and countless dollars. Pinner walks you through each step in diagnosing and fixing a problem. If it works, you just saved yourself a tech support call. If none of the solutions work, you’ll have a better understanding of the underlying problem when you talk to your technician. (And the more you can explain to your tech the less likely he/she is to treat you like a noob. That’s worth it right there.) Pinner tells you when you need to stop and call a technician, or, as the case may be, when it’s more cost-effective to just junk a component (like a troublesome printer) and buy a new one.

The instructions themselves are non-techie, easy to follow, and include some levity to help keep you calm when you feel like panicking.

Simple Fixes For Your Sick PC is a great manual for anyone with a PC computer to have on hand, especially those who aren’t technically-minded. If you have a PC running Windows, it will eventually blue screen and crash. That’s a given. Get Simple Fixes For Your Sick PC before that happens!"
